Game of Thrones Single Malts and Good Memories
With the major plot twist at last night of Game of Thrones and only one episode left of this show, one gets to reflect upon the favorite moments of the show. And alongside a rollercoaster of emotions and sitting on the edge of the seat, there is one experience that stands out in my memory. The season 8 premiere and whiskey tasting in company with Diageo.
In celebration of the eight and final season of Game of Thrones Diageo and HBO has created a line of limited edition single malts. Each of these single malts has been paired with one of the prominent families of Westeros, the Night’s Watch and of course the White Walkers based on the history of the single malts. For example is House Targaryen paired with Cardhu Gold Reserve, as there behind the distillery lies the story of a strong woman – like Danny. The Cardhu distillery was founded by Helen Commung and her daughter in law, Elizabeth, in the 19th century where the whiskey industry was dominated by men.
All single malts have been launched 1st of March.
Dalwhinnie Winter’s Frost – House Stark
Cardhu Gold Reserve – House Targaryen
Lagavulin 9 Year Old – House Lannister
Oban Bay Reserve – The Night’s Watch
Talisker Select Reserve – House Greyjoy
Clynelish Reserve – House Tyrell
Royal Lochnagar 12YO – House Baratheon
The Singleton of Glendullan Select – House Tully
And the joker,
Johnnie ‘White’ Walker 2018 blended scotch whiskey
My personal favorite was the Talisker Select Reserve – even though I’m not usually keen on the heavily smoked whiskeys!
