LOAFERS LOADED WITH WHITE SOCKS

LOAFERS LOADED WITH WHITE socks

Loafers and white socks are not a new thing as such. You’ve seen it as part of the preppy Ivy League dress manner for a long time. However, it doesn’t hold the same ground in Europe as it does in the US. Nonetheless, it’s lately been revived by several high end fashion brands like for example Gucci – a brand that currently draws on heritage from many corners of the world.

Not all are gonna cope with this trend, but I’ve personally come to like it. It took some time getting used to, but I guess we’re all worked up by our own patterns. What I really like about it is that you can easily spice up a black look with a bit of contrast – much like wearing white sneakers. Besides the styling options then it gives somewhat of a M.J. vibe (though I’m missing the glove and out-of-this-world-dance-moves).

The way that it works out the best (in my opinion) is when the combination is worn with dress pants or very neat chinos, in that way it doesn’t become too casual. For the upper body you’re free to chose between t-shirts or a more preppy direction. However be aware, if you go for a more preppy outfit then you might want consider a more dressy sock, where as if you wear the combination with a t-shirt, then a more sporty version may be sufficient.

Would you wear loafers loaded with white socks? Let me know below.
