Styling a Navy Suit Casually

Many of the mens’ style guides out there tell you, that a man have got to own at least one suit. Note the at least part, as one suit not may be sufficient! You will of course need the black suit, but be aware that this one is opted for very formal events like funerals etc. For a night out, workwear or in general more casual events a grey suit or navy suit may be just the right choice.
However many, including my self, often feel that a suit and a dress shirt may feel just a bit to formal (especially if pop a tie with it). That’s why I often style my suits with just a tee for a more casual and younger look. Personally I believe that this styling goes very well with the navy suit and a striped tee. The striped tee gives it a bit of a naval vibe and always reminds me of the great Pablo Picasso who always wore horizontally striped tees.
This breezy way to wear the navy suit allows you to rock a suit even on the warmer days in the fall. Especially as many of the great fashion houses like Gucci, Prada and Versace all include the navy in their FW15 color scheme.
In these photos I’m wearing a Navy suit from Zara with a white pocket square, a HM horizontally striped tee, dress shoes from Lloyd Shoes and a Gucci belt.
The photos are shot in Méze, France.
