If there is one thing that may throw (some) men into an abyss it is the obsession with their chrono. The one piece of jewellery that all men can agree upon. Not that there is the sligthest truth to men only being able to accessorise with a timepiece – au contraire. And while the innovation keeps on upgrading whatever tech is on your wrist, there is something romantic about the old school – whether dive or dress.

As with any other part
of the wardrobe there is a time and a place – and a need for coordination.
Coordination like you would choose your sneakers or derbies for a consistent elevated look. Like choosing the whiskey for your sour. The gin to your tonic. It comes down to the flavour – the taste. The immaculate. Likewise, there is a time and place; like wearing a timepiece with a tux or not. Definitely not. But for any other time and place is a yes, even counting sex. Durability needs testing you know. Time and time again.

Choosing to go dive, dress or something different, is always a matter of preference. But preferences may also change. Whether it’s due to maturity, masculinity or basic fashion, doesn’t really matter. While diving watches may have peaked your interest before like a regular James Bond the sleek elegant dress watch may become your new favourite. So don’t judge too quickly, because you might just end up liking it later on.
